Rural Access to Dermatology Society

Est. 2024

The RAD Society sees a future America where all individuals, irrespective of geography, have ready access to high quality dermatologic care.

Our
Mission

Our mission is to understand the barriers that limit rural patients from visiting a dermatologist and devise systems to positively impact the skin health of this population through education and research.

Our
Vision

We see a future America where all individuals, irrespective of geography, have ready access to high quality dermatologic care.

A Message from our Founder

Thank you for your interest in the Rural Access to Dermatology Society. My passion to bring high quality dermatologic care to rural America stemmed from my humble beginnings in central Illinois. It then blossomed during my journey from teaching on a Navajo Nation border town to becoming a dermatology resident at the University of New Mexico.

It is my hope that our “rad” society will connect faculty, community dermatologists, dermatology residents and medical students who represent the diversity of rural perspectives, experiences, and initiatives in our field. The RADS falls within the AAD’s Strategic Plan and our goal is to facilitate collaboration, brainstorming, research, planning and implementation of methods to improve rural access to dermatology.

Sincerely,

Mary E. Logue, MD, FAAD
